Network security, detection of malicious network activity and cyber ranges.
Professor · Cyber Security
Professor of cyber security at Aarhus University. I research network security and the detection of malicious activity – and educate the specialists who protect businesses, institutions and critical infrastructure.
I hold a master’s degree in mathematics and computer science from Aalborg University and a PhD in computer networks. Since 2026 I am a professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Aarhus University, building a strong cyber security research environment.
Previously I led the cyber security research group and the M.Sc. programme in cyber security at Aalborg University. My research focuses on network security, detecting malicious network activity, and cyber ranges for training.
I believe a university’s greatest impact is the students it educates – they carry knowledge into companies and organisations. And that cyber security is a competitive advantage for Denmark, not just a defence.
“Cybersecurity is very much about thinking like a hacker. That kind of creativity reminds me of when I was a child experimenting with computers.”
